Montenegro adventure itinerary

Montenegro packs alpine and Adriatic adventure into a two-hour drive. This plan alternates hard days with recovery days so you can actually finish it.

Quick facts

Day 1 — Sea kayaking in the bay

Half day from Kotor towards Prčanj and the sunken village of Stoliv.

Day 2 — Tandem paragliding, Budva

Launch from Brajići above the riviera, land on the beach at Bečići. 20–30 minutes airborne.

Day 3 — Drive north, Durmitor hike

Black Lake circuit in the afternoon to acclimatise to 1,450 m.

Day 4 — Tara rafting

18 km, 21 rapids, grade II–IV depending on the month.

Day 5 — Nevidio canyoning

The hardest day of the trip — swimming, jumping and abseiling in a canyon that only opens from late June. Wetsuit and guide mandatory.

Day 6 — Bobotov Kuk or recovery

The 2,523 m summit is a 6–8 hour return climb from Sedlo, or take an easy plateau walk and drive back to the coast.

Frequently asked questions

When can you do canyoning in Nevidio?

Roughly late June to September. Before that the water level makes the canyon dangerous and licensed guides will not run it.

How fit do you need to be for Montenegro adventure activities?

Rafting and kayaking suit most people. Nevidio canyoning and Bobotov Kuk need real fitness — six to eight hours of effort with scrambling and cold water.
