Montenegro's postcard island and the Miločer shore walk
Sveti Stefan is a fortified 15th-century fishing village on an island tied to the mainland by a sand causeway, six kilometres south of Budva. It was converted into a single luxury hotel in the 1950s, so access to the island itself is normally limited to guests — but the beaches either side, the Miločer park shore walk and the viewpoint on the coastal road are open to everyone and are what most people come for.
